ASECNA Internship
In the aviation field, there’s no room for errors. Every system, every signal, and every piece of data plays a role in keeping planes in the sky and passengers safe. That’s exactly what I experienced at ASECNA’s Air Traffic Control & Meteorology Division, where I assisted at the intersection of IT, aviation technology, and real-time data systems.
This wasn’t just an internship it was a deep dive into the high-pressure world of air navigation, control tower communications, and aviation cybersecurity.

Optimizing Real-Time IT & Network Systems for Air Traffic Control
At ASECNA, every second matters. I worked on high stakes IT & telecom infrastructure, ensuring fast, secure, and uninterrupted air traffic operations through real-time aviation data processing and resilient networking.
Performance
• Zero-Downtime Networks: Ensured 24/7 air traffic control connectivity using Cisco routers & firewalls.
• Automated Weather Data Processing: Built Python scripts to structure real-time METAR & TAF aviation reports.
• VoIP & Radio Communications: Maintained VHF/HF/IP-based air-to-ground communication for pilots and controllers.
Aviation-Grade Reliability
Every millisecond is critical in aviation IT. I optimized flight data processing, meteorological system updates, and ATC communication tools to ensure seamless pilot-controller coordination. My work enhanced real-time aircraft tracking accuracy and reduced response times for controllers.
Navigating IT Challenges in Air Traffic Control
Managing aviation IT infrastructure comes with challenges from ensuring seamless data transmission to enhancing system efficiency. At ASECNA, I played a role in identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements in aviation data processing and network reliability.
One of the key challenges was ensuring that mission-critical aviation systems remained operational without failures, minimizing downtime and maintaining compliance with ICAO standards.
Network Stability & Infrastructure
Managing aviation-grade IT systems requires robust networks. I assisted in diagnosing and mitigating disruptions, improving data transmission efficiency between ground stations and aircraft.
Optimizing Communication for Critical Operations
Reliable air traffic communication can’t afford downtime. I contributed to optimizing VoIP & radio frequency (VHF/HF) networks, ensuring controllers had uninterrupted contact with pilots, as in the high-stakes world of air traffic control, even a minor delay in data transmission can have critical consequences..
🛠 Seamless ATC-Pilot Coordination
By configuring and troubleshooting communication systems, I helped enhance voice and data link reliability, including Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls, optimizing real-time data exchange between control towers and aircraft, ensuring real-time responses in air traffic operations.
